Annual Salisbury Fun weekend in August
The August bank holiday brings the annual trek to Salisbury plain and a weekend of socialising, talks, demonstrations and a few drinks with friends.
Held every year this has become the largest pre-season event of the calendar and hopes to answer questions from new owners as well as allow for meeting of old and new friends outside of the busy days of shows and working rallies.
Attached is the entry form and event details: AMWA 2011_Salisbury entry form .
30th April 2011
The first May bank holiday sees us returning to Somerset for a weekend of walking, chilling and socializing.
The main walk (of five miles) follows a cliff top path around Cheddar Gorge consisting of some steep ascents & descent but rewarding with fantastic views of the gorge and out across the Somerset levels to Glastonbury Tor to the east to the Bristol Channel and Exmoor to the west. There will be a flat alternative walk covering roughly the same distance.
Both routes around the gorge arrive at the pub for lunch. Footpaths and roads through the village or a longer route via the local reservoir return to the campsite with time to relax. Join in with the chill around the campfire to exchange tales of a canine nature, or not as the case may be, late into the night.
Sunday involves as little or as much as you like with additional walks or the local visitor attractions. Please see the booking form below for further information.

At Bewl Water we have the sole use of the two camping fields tucked away from the main venue. There is enough room to spread out and stake out dogs. If weather is severe (remember Easter 2010!!) we also have the use of another more practical area.
Weather Permitting – we are intending to use the 12 mile round reservoir route. The track passes through beautiful countryside, woodlands and meadows and a private lane to bypass the Nature Reserve. This route is closed to horses and cyclists at this time of year and there will be two opportunities to complete this trek during the weekend. In the morning, starting the first teams at 6.00 am we will be back before the mornings warm up and the public arrive. We also offer the opportunity to run this trail one evening.
There will also be the opportunity to compete in a weight-pull event.
Bewl Water has a Restaurant/Café, Gift Shop and many activities on offer, for further information about this venue please visit the website at www.bewl.co.uk
