 AMWA will be holding a Fun/ Training Weekend for all sled dog owners and those interested in owning a sled dog 

The Event will be open to all!

6 Days and bring as many dogs as you like! 

The cost will be £55.00 per head for AMWA Members and £67.00 for non-Members.

Children between 5 and 16 years of age £10.00 per head.  Free for children less than 5 years of age.

When: From Wed 22nd Aug to Tue 28th Aug 2018.  Arrival from 1600hrs 22nd Aug 2018.

Where:  At CROSS BELTS (Salisbury Plain), opposite F Range between Bulford Camp and Tidworth Garrison, Wiltshire.  For reference use either of the following Postcodes SP4 9JB (Bulford) or SP9 7SE (Tidworth) and then follow the AMWA signs

We have a large area of Salisbury Plains booked for private use and we should therefore be quite undisturbed by members of the public. There will be Portable toilets and cold water available for the duration of this event.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE EVENT IS CAPPED AT 350 HEADS THIS YEAR SO BOOK EARLY 

The stand pipe at Carter Barracks, has still not been repaired, so you will need provide drinking water for suitable water cans for your needs. Drinking water for the dogs ONLY will be in the water tank on CROSS BELTS SITE. 

Catering will for the duration of the event be provided by:
(Hot Food) Lady Scarlett’s Tea Parlour.  An exciting new venture for this year.

Both will have a varied menu to meet all tastes so please support them.

So please come along and take the opportunity to meet old friends and swap old sledding stories while sinking some well-earned BEERS.

SAFETY: 

If you are camping on Cross Belts please bring with you a suitable fire extinguisher for your caravan or tent.

By terms of the land licence we are not allowed OPEN FIRES This includes CHINESE LANTERNS AND FIRE PITS. However BBQs are allowed.

Please keep your dog on a lead at all times.

Please ensure children are supervised at all times and stay away from any military and farm equipment that may be left in the Cross Belts area.

There are some large holes around the area so please take care when driving or walking about during the evening!!!!!!

Please be aware that this area is popular with dog walkers and despite all our efforts to keep us and the public separate it may not always be possible, especially when outside the confines of Cross Belts.

Running of dogs at the rear of Cross Belts early in the mornings is permitted on Fri/Sat/Sun only but please attend one of the MUSHERS MEETINGS and follow the safety guide lines which will be displayed on the notice board at the main Tent. All running must stop at 0745hrs.
