The main entrance to Great Ridge Woods is off the A303 near to the village of Chicklade, Wiltshire. Post Code SP3 5SX
From the West continue past the exit with the A350 (or join the A303 from the A350 if travelling from Warminster), go down the hill (Speed camera on R/H/S) and through the village of Chicklade. After national Speed Limit signs look for the 2nd turning on the L/H/S. There is a green sign with arrows for Bake Barn & Penning. There will also be an AMWA direction sign. Follow the track up past Bake barn into the woods.
From the East continue on the A303 through Wylye. On a short stretch of dual carriage way which goes down a steep hill returning to a single carriageway there is junction on the L/H/S signed Fonthill Bishop. Continue on the A303 but look out for a green sign on the R/H/S of the road for Bake Barn & Penning. There will also be an AMWA direction sign. Turn right with caution as the A303 is a busy road. Follow the track up past Bake barn into the woods.
When exiting the site to join the A303, do so with caution as it is a busy road.

TREK – Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th February 2019
VENUE OPENS: 6.00am on Saturday 9th March 2018.
RIG INSPECTION: From 7.00am near the start line (subject to change depending on entry
numbers and temperature)
MUSHER’S MEETING: 7.30am (subject to change depending on entry numbers and temperature) START TIME: 8.30am (subject to change depending on entry numbers and temperature)
The course offers a choice of either 9.3 miles or 14 miles (Subject to change) over varying terrain, mostly woodland trails/firebreaks, and some wide forest tracks. The trail is relatively level with one of two small hills.
CLASSES: There will be no individual classes for this event.
Minimum team size: 1 dog; maximum: 8 dogs*. This trail will also be open to run 1 dog on either a scooter or rig, and also to those entrants who wish to run Cani-Cross with 1 dog. (All dogs must be a minimum of 12 months old for 9.5 miles and older than 18 months for 13.5 miles as per AMWA rules for a trek of this distance). This will be at the discretion of the organisors. Consideration will be given for a dog between the ages of 12-18 months if running in a larger team (2+)
