Saturday 27th November 2021 from 14:00 hrs near start line. Sunday 28th November 2021 from 07:00 hrs ( for those competing on

Sunday Only )

Important: if you have NOT taken part in a Rally before you will not be able to take part in the night stage.

Toilets and Catering from will be on site. However, under the current Covid -19 guidance and for your own safety, we recommend that you please use your own caravan and tent toilets where possible. Please also remember to wash your hands and sanitize and maintain social distancing.

So please come along and take the opportunity to meet old and new friends.

What will be different this year?

● SOCIAL DISTANCING – anyone who attends this event must agree to comply with the Forestry England and AMWA event rules, and the current social distancing rules at all times. If you fail to do so you will be asked to leave the event.

● HAND WASHING / SANITISING – Please ensure you regularly wash or sanitize your hands. Please make sure you bring your own hand sanitiser.

● ON ARRIVAL – you MUST check in with Committee/event organizers ● Whilst we have our own designated area we are part of a public forestry land and need to be respectful to other users.

You should also be aware that IF Covid-19 government advice changes and lockdown is re implemented we will do our utmost to refund in full.

DOGS:

● All dogs must be kept under control and on leads at all times.

● Please do not attach dog chains etc to any trees.

● You MUST pick up after your dogs.

● Please clear up after your dogs, including fur and try to prevent digging and fill in any

holes, soil & equipment will be provided.

● Please provide adequate shade for your dogs.

Eligibility for Dogs and Mushers

Any dog participating in a Rally organised by the Alaskan Malamute Working Association must be a purebred sled dog and be registered with the Kennel Club to that effect, or have a rescue number issued by the Official Breed Club for that breed (sled dog breeds only) or have an

AMWA Working Number.

Any Sled dog combination * - A maximum of 6 dogs on a 3 wheeled Rig. A maximum of 8 dogs will be permitted on a 4 wheeled Rig.

ASFDC Team Composition

To protect the heavier freight breeds from possible injury and/or neck lining, the following team compositions will be permitted:

3 freight dogs or minimum of 1 freight dog

ASFDC(8) – 4 freight dogs or minimum of 2 freight dogs

5 freight dogs or minimum of 2 freight dogs

6 freight dogs or minimum of 3 freight dogs

7 freight dogs or minimum of 3 freight dogs (4 wheeled or passenger

rig) 8 freight dogs or minimum of 4 freight dogs (4 wheeled or

passenger rig)

If competing in ASFDC(3) – 3 dog team, and through injury or for welfare reasons a dog has to be dropped the team must still consist of the minimum of 1 freight dog or you will be disqualified. If competing in ASFDC(8) and through injury or for welfare reasons a dog has to be dropped the team must still consist of the minimum number of freight dogs

(mixed team), or you will be disqualified

Members - 2 day entry 1st Class - £21:20 – 2nd Class £12:00 – 3rd and subsequent free. 1 day entry 1st Class - £13:00 – 2nd Class £6:00 – 3rd and subsequent free

Non-Member - 2 day entry 1st Class - £29:50 - 2nd Class £15:00 – 3rd Class £12:00 1 day entry 1st Class - £17:00 – 2nd Class £7:50 – 3rd Class £6

THE COURSE

The trails are mainly on grass with limited sections running along fire trails which are of a hard compacted sandy surface. The majority of the course is generally flat. BOOTING Booting should not be required but it is at the Musher’s discretion.

PROTECTIVE HELMET The correct wearing of a protective helmet is COMPULSORY for all classes.

The following approved types of helmets are acceptable. They must be undamaged and have a serviceable chin strap.

a. Cycle Helmet

b. BMX Helmet

c. Ski Helmet

Helmets must be available for inspection by the scrutineer during the rig inspection.

VEHICLE ACCESS Via Fire Gate 203

Follow signs to the Admin Area.

PARKING There is plenty of space for parking and staking out of teams. LIGHTING EQUIPMENT No wet acid batteries may be carried.

Plastic lenses are recommended, but any glass must be taped or preferably bagged.

Back-Up lights must be carried i.e. a head torch. The lights must be available for inspection

CAMPING Overnight Camping is permitted the charge of £5.00 per vehicle/per night.

RUBBISH

We have the use of this forest on the understanding that there is no trace of our presence on the day after the rally. This means that you must clear up your dogs waste, fill in any holes dug and remove all litter. Please do not chain your dogs to the trees. Thank You!

VOLUNTEERS - Events cannot be run without assistance. Please volunteer. There is a space on the entry form to indicate your preference. We will be using RAYNET as marshals for checkpoints, BUT we need volunteers for many other jobs such as snubbing to help start teams, and general assistance. Thank you.

• If you are camping please bring with you a suitable fire extinguisher for your

caravan, Campervan or tent.

• OPEN FIRES INCLUDING CHINESE LANTERNS AND FIRE PITS AND BBQ's

• Please ensure children are supervised at all times.

when driving or walking about during the evening

Approach from East & West is via A14, Bury St Edmunds, Onto A134, Left into Barton Hill, Right onto B1106. Follow through Fornham St Genevieve and onto Culford. Go through Wordwell towards North Stow and still on B1106 turn off right into Gate 203.

If coming from Brandon follow B1106 Past Center Parcs Elveden Forest towards North Stow and turn right into gate 203
